BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Ascension Parish Mosquito Control will provide an aerial mosquito control spraying tentatively on Saturday, Sept. 18.

“Mosquitoes are always worse after storms,” said Parish President Clint Cointment. “Aerial spraying allows us to treat larger areas of the parish in as short a time as possible.”

The date is tentative due to weather. The state of Louisiana, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Federal Emergency Management Agency and Vector Disease Control International have all partnered with the Ascension Parish Mosquito Control.

The mosquito population levels have reached government-established guidelines, so the aerial spraying comes at no cost to the parish, according to an official press release.
