BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The mother of a two-year-old boy who drowned in a pool is out of the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.

Kiarra Holmes posted a $50,000 bond on the same day she was booked into the jail.

Holmes is facing one count of negligent homicide after her two-year-old son drowned in a pool earlier this week.

St. George Fire Department spokesperson Eldon Ledoux says having a self-locking gate around a pool is the law in Baton Rouge.
