BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge Police announced investigations into a total of four BRPD officers Thursday. Two have been arrested on some serious charges but two more are facing serious consequences.

At the Thursday press conference, BRPD officials said Officer Wade Hill is facing kidnapping, and misdemeanor sexual battery among other charges, and Officer Richmond Barrow was booked on obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office after reportedly tipping off an alleged drug dealer.

“In the spirit of transparency, the investigation of Mr. Barrow was not the only former BRPD officer investigated for leaking confidential and law enforcement sensitive information,” said BRPD Deputy Chief Myron Daniels.

BRPD Sergeant John Dauthier allegedly used a department computer to access sensitive material.

“BRPD Sergeant John Dauthier used a departmental issued computer to access reporting database to research a member serving on the municipal fire and police civil service board,” Daniels said. “Just as Mr. Barrow did in his case, John Dauthier also while on administrative leave retired prior to the completion of the internal investigation.”

And that’s not all. BRPD Corporal Billy Maddingly was arrested by the Denham Springs Police Department.

“February the 16th of this year a Walmart employee observed then Corporal Maddingly placing stickers for lower priced items on higher priced items, and proceeding to the self-checkout,” Daniels explained. “Mr. Maddingly then left the store and was ultimately taken into custody by a Denham Springs Police Officer on a nearby street.”

After an internal investigation, a disciplinary hearing was held last week and the 11-year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department was terminated.
