Two men arrested in connection with Plank Road market shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) —

UPDATE:

17-year-old Desmond Rogers and 18-year-old Javonta Broden are in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

BRPD says that Rogers and Broden “have been arrested for the shooting that occurred at 2944 Plank Rd, Carlin’s Food Mart on Sunday, May 10.”

Rogers and Broden are both facing five counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder.

“Four of the five shooting victims have been released from the hospital,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Police are responding to a shooting Sunday afternoon at a Plank Road food market.

First responders reached the scene around 3:15 p.m. Emergency crews took four people to the hospital with gunshot wounds. A fifth person reached the emergency room on their own.

Two people remain in critical condition, while two others are stable. The status of the fifth person involved remains unclear.
