LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Court files released Tuesday lists 150 combined counts against a former Livingston Parish deputy and his wife, a former substitute teacher.
A 44-page indictment includes 78 felony counts against former deputy Dennis Perkins and 72 felony counts against Cynthia Perkins:

- 1 count attempted first-degree rape

Cynthia Perkins:
- 61 counts of producing child porn
- 4 counts sexual battery of a child under 13
- 3 counts first-degree rape
- 1 count attempted first-degree rape
- 1 count of mingling harmful substances
The indictment also suggests a third perpetrator was involved, though prosecutors have yet to name names.
“We’re going to continue to go through all the data, all the evidence we have, until we are satisfied that we have obtained justice for all the victims and delivered justice to all the perpetrators,” prosecutor Matthew Derbes said. “The allegations are horrific.”
The Perkinses were first arrested in October. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately fired Dennis Perkins, while Cynthia resigned from the parish school district.
The couple faces a combined 6,000-year prison sentence, if convicted.
“Hopefully we hit a tipping point when we send a message, look, you’re going to go to jail for a very, very, very long time,” Derbes said. “We need to stop this.”
Dennis Perkins’ lawyer, David Bourland, is asking to be removed from the case, citing disagreements with his client. Bourland declined further comment Tuesday afternoon.
