BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) –The 24th Annual CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade made its way through downtown on Sunday, February 5.
A Baton Rouge resident and her family said they been coming to this event for around four years.
“We’ve been coming here for years. It’s a really great experience for the dog to meet new vendors and other dogs,” Corinne Howle said.
The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) helps spread awareness for animals and the excitement of pets coming together within the community.
CAAWS is a non-profit organization striving to lower the animal population, humane treatment of animals and to encourage adoption of homeless animals. The CAAWS board member, Libby Haydel said there’s more than one way to help.
“If you can’t adopt, foster, if you can’t foster volunteer and if you can’t volunteer, donate. So there’s always a way for someone to help an animal or animals in need,” Haydel said.
Haydel said if anyone is interested in learning more to visit www.caaws.org.
