BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA/WGMB) – A spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s office says Baton Rouge native, rapper NBA YoungBoy is the brother of two teens facing murder charges.

Jeffrey Tate, 16, and Davaughn Tate, 18, turned themselves in Wednesday afternoon. The juvenile was booked into the juvenile detention center along with another 16-year-old. The adult was booked into to Parish prison. 

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s office said Devon Brown, 17, died from injuries sustained in Monday’s shooting on Ottawa Drive.

Jeffrey Tate was arrested for:

  • Principal to Second Degree Murder
  • Principal to Illegal Use of a Weapon 
  • Simple Battery

Tate’s brother, Davaughn, was arrested for:

  • Second Degree Murder 
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon.
