Need the COVID-19 vaccine? Ochsner to hold vaccination events beginning May 11

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Ochsner Baton Rouge will offer several COVID-19 vaccination events beginning May 11.

The events will offer the two-dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. On May 15, the single-dose Johnson & Johnson will be offered at Elm Grove Baptist Church.

The Pfizer vaccine is available to anyone age 16 or older, and the Moderna and the Johnson and Johnson vaccines are available to anyone 18 or older.

Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accommodated as supplies allow. To make an appointment, all (844) 888-2772, or visit MyOchsner.org. Vaccination sites are open to anyone regardless of their patient status at Ochsner. 

The Ochsner staff will be available at the following locations and times:

  • May 11, 9 A.M.- 4 P.M (Pfizer)

BREC-Jefferson Park

  • May 12, 9 A.M.- 1 P.M. (Pfizer)

Beacon Light Church

  • May 13, 9 A.M. – 3 P.M. (Moderna)

Iberville Parish Health Unit

  • May 15, 9 A.M. – 2 P.M. (Johnson & Johnson)-

Things to know before you go:

Photo ID and insurance cards are not required but will speed up the registration process if you bring them. If you are a teacher or healthcare worker, please bring your employee ID. Appointments usually take about 25-45 minutes, including the 15-minute monitoring period following the injection.

To make the process as quick as possible, we encourage you to complete your registration online in advance following the instructions sent to you upon booking your appointment.
