Neighbor of Livingston Parish man charged with 500 counts of child porn, speaks out

Local News

A Livingston Parish man is spending his birthday behind bars after he was charged with 500 of counts of pornography involving a child under 13.

49-year-old Randy Miller Jr. was arrestedTuesday morning after neighbors say dozens of officers showed up at his home.

Our Kennedi Walker spoke to one neighbor who says she never would have expected Miller would get arrested.

“It breaks my heart knowing that people are actually out there fantasizing about children like that,” Crystal Vick said.

Vick says her daughter attends school with Miller’s son. According to reports, the arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms.

The Attorney General is handling the case and released the following statement following Miller’s arrest:

“Child pornography is a dreadful crime that inflicts lifelong damage to the victims,” said General Landry. “So I applaud my office and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the despicable people who possess, distribute, and produce these horrific sexual abuse images and videos.”

Vick says because of Miller’s arrest she’s forced to explain this situation to her three young children. She says it hurts that this situation hit so close to home.

“I do tell them straight up there’s people out there that look at y’all in a way that’s not appropriate,” she said. “I do tell them that because I want them to be aware of their surroundings.”

Bond has been set at $50 million.
