BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Netflix documentary series scheduled to premiere in August centers around a 2019 Baton Rouge murder case.
Directed by Skye Borgman, the docuseries, “I Just Killed My Dad,” is described as “gripping.” A synopsis for the series reads: “Anthony Templet shot his father and never denied it. But why he did is a complex question with profound implications that go far beyond one family.”
On the morning of June 3, 2019, authorities responded to a fatal shooting in the Capital City. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said the accused shooter, Anthony Templet, fired three rounds at his father, Burt Templet.
Burt later died from his injuries three days after the shooting on June 6, 2019, according to the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office.
In March 2021, The Advocate reported that Anthony pled no contest to negligent homicide and was sentenced to five years probation.
The docuseries will be available to watch on Netflix on Aug. 9.
