BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new restaurant on Government Street offering hot, fresh fried seafood and quick service opened Tuesday.

Cork’s — Cajun Fried Fish and Shrimp “o-fish-ally” opened its doors to guests Tuesday, according to a Facebook post. The restaurant is run by the owners of Cou-Yon’s BBQ, a Port Allen restaurant.

One of the owners, Paul Mladenka, said the idea for Cork’s came from the “lack of really good quality fried fish and shrimp product in a quick service environment.”

Fried seafood cravings can be satisfied at Cork’s. The menu includes Cajun fried fish and shrimp platters, fish and shrimp po’boys, and crawfish etouffee. Platters are served with coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries, hushpuppies, and a honey butter roll. For dessert, the restaurant offers sweet beignet bites.

There are also kid’s meals and catering menus. People can order in the restaurant, drive-thru, or online at corksfishandshrimp.com.

The restaurant is located at 5131 Government St. and is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
