BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Are you looking to expand your job skills in the near future?

One local school is working with local leaders and a multinational technology company to give you the opportunity to learn more and maybe even change careers.

According to organizers, “representatives from Baton Rouge Community College, IBM, BRCC Foundation, Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC), and Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome will unveil a new platform for job seekers in the Capital Region who are seeking new job skills, during a press conference at 11 a.m. at the River Center Branch Library.”

Joining Mayor Broome at Monday’s event are:

  • Baton Rouge Community College Chancellor Willie Smith
  • IBM Senior State Executive Louisiana Charles Masters
  • BRCC Foundation Executive Director and Vice Chancellor Philip L. Smith, Jr.
  • Baton Rouge Area Chamber Sr. Vice President of Economic Competitiveness Liz Smith

One benefit to the new platform is that it is free.

This platform “will also allow many employers to partner with BRCC and IBM to provide training and professional development for their employees at no-cost.”

The River Center Branch Library is located at 250 North Blvd.
