New HIV Infections in Baton Rouge Drop 12 Percent

)BATON ROUGE, La (WGMB-WVLA) –The numbers for some sexually transmitted diseases are down in the Baton Rouge area.
City-parish leaders unveiled new date Monday that shows AIDS Cases were down over the past year.
In 2016, Baton Rouge was ranked number one in the country for the rate of AIDS diagnoses.
Last year, Baton Rouge dropped to ten.
The Mayor’s OFfice credits the decline to an increased number of people getting tested and knowing their status. The number of people newly diagnosed with HIV in Louisiana declined over 12% in the past three years. For more information on prevention and treatment services click here:
