NEW ORLEANS, LA (BRPROUD) The mayor of New Orleans has issued a Stay Home Mandate requiring residents to stay home except for essential needs.
Essential needs include accessing healthcare, getting supplies, or going to an essential job.
Within the next week, we’re expecting a dramatic rise in #COVID19 #Coronavirus cases due to large batches of tests conducted by commercial labs. These numbers will be sobering and will likely indicate what we already suspected–that there is substantial community spread in #NOLA.
City Hall will have limited functions.
Essential businesses are expected to remain open including:
- Healthcare Providers
- Groceries & Pharmacies
- Take out & Drive-thru restaurants
- Construction & Infrastructure work
- Banks
- News & media
