NOPD makes arrest in shooting death of Black Lives Matter Activist

The New Orleans Police Department arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the shooting of Black Lives Matter activist Muhiyidin  Moye on February 6.

Roosevelt Iglus is behind bars in the Orleans Parish Justice Center charged with second degree murder.

The shooting occurred a little before 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bienville St.

Officers arrived the scene to find an individual later identified as Muhiyidin Moye with a leg wound. 

Moye was taken to a local hospital where he later died at which point the case became a homicide.

The New Orleans Police Department received a Crimestoppers tip which helped identify the shooter and Inglus was arrested on July 24 in the 700 block of Iberville St.
