Ochsner announces closures on Sunday and Monday due to hurricane

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPOUD) – Ochsner Baton Rouge urgent care locations, health centers and testing or vaccination clinics will close Sunday, August 29 through Monday, August 30 due to Hurricane Ida. \

All Ochsner facilities will run at normal hours on Saturday, August 28.

Ochsner has started its essential personnel staffing which will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday. 

Hospital visitation has been limited:

  • One visitor per patient in the emergency department
  • One parent or guardian per child
  • One support person for laboring/delivering moms
  • One support person for patients with mental impairment and immediate family units (spouse/partner, children, parents, and siblings) for end-of-life care

No other visitors will be allowed at the facility until the hurricane passes. The hospital will go back to the current visitor policy when the storm clears.

Ochsner advises patients to shelter in a safe place and avoid traveling unless there is a life-threatening emergency.
