BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge hospital was named Hospital of the Year and one of America’s Greatest Workplaces.

Ochsner Baton Rouge was named Hospital of the Year in the 61-160 beds category by the Louisiana State Nurses Association and the Louisiana Nurse Foundation and named as an American Great Workplace for Families and Parents by Newsweek Magazine.

This marks the third time Ochsner was awarded Hospital of the Year in the last four years.

“We are grateful for this recognition and acknowledgment of the service, quality and life-changing care provided by our entire team,” said Chuck Daigle, chief executive officer, of Ochsner Baton Rouge. “It’s especially notable that it builds on the award beginning in 2020, the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The care, compassion, quality and safety of our hospital staff remains strong, even in some of the most challenging years in the history of our industry. While the data and results are important and provide verification, the impacts made on each individual patient and family remain as our focus.”

“Our top priority at Ochsner is to put patients first, and we know employees are at their best when they have a healthy work-life balance directly correlating with the high-quality care offered to our patients and community, ” said Tracey Schiro, executive vice president, chief human resources and administrative officer at Ochsner Health. “We strive to create a world-class workplace culture of support, growth and inclusivity through our core values, accessible programs and benefits. We are committed to each employee’s well-being, health and happiness.”
