BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Ochsner Eat Fit set to host 9th annual Eat Fit Dine Out event with a new addition.

Ochsner’s Eat Fit Dine Out Week begins June 3 through June 10. They encourage the community to celebrate local Eat Fit partners by dining at participating restaurants. Eat Fit is also encouraging residents to donate to local food banks.

The team at Eat Fit are asking that donations be dropped off at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank or make a monetary contribution here. Just $1 can create up to 3 meals.

Savanna Latimer with Eat Fit BR says, “Eat Fit Dine Out and Donate is an opportunity to nourish our community in several ways, supporting local businesses while simultaneously giving back to those in need. We’re asking the community to donate items like no- or low-salt canned goods, whole grains or even fresh produce.”

Ochsner Eat Fit works with restaurants, as well as the community, to make the healthy choice the easy route. Eat Fit also supports nutrition education for culinary programs, community cooking classes, and the opportunity to develop Eat Fit in under served areas.

Eat Fit makes it easier for people who are trying to eat better, live and feel better.
