BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Celebrate Oktoberfest in Baton Rouge at an upcoming event featuring German-inspired food and beers from local restaurants and breweries.

This celebration will be the Louisiana Restaurant Association Greater Baton Rouge (LRA GBR) Chapter’s inaugural Oktoberfest fundraising event. The event will be taking place on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pointe Marie (14200 River Road).

“We are pleased to offer our community a new event filled with familiar Oktoberfest fun,” said LRA GBR Chapter President Jeff Conaway. “This is a fundraising event for a cause that is near and dear to our members – Louisiana ProStart. Our area has 19 high school culinary arts and restaurant management programs designed to attract young people to rewarding careers in our restaurants.”

Event organizers said attendees will receive a complimentary beer stein to drink beer samples out of.

Oktoberfest entertainment includes live music by The Chris Leblanc Band, a live auction, games, and themed contests. Tickets are $50 per person in advance and VIP tickets are $75.
