Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman was a guest speaker at LSU’s Delta Gamma Lectureship Wednesday.
Many may recall Raisman from the public victimization of the Larry Nassar scandal, which took place over the last few months.
The headlining scandal detailed ongoing sexual abuse toward high profile gymnasts, as well as hundreds of other women.
Aly Raisman, an Olympic Gold Medalist, is one of the survivors of Nassar’s abuse.
Back in February, Nassar was sentenced 40 to 125 years in prison for abusing over 250 women.
Tonight at LSU, Raisman revealed what happened to her in great detail and how she was able to overcome it.
Raisman became a national star, leading USA gymnastics to Olympic gold medals in both 2012 and 2016.
However, she’s spent the better part of 2018 speaking out against sexual abuse.
Raisman is now an activist and author who uses her platform to promote positive body images and encourages everyone to be comfortable and confident in their own skin.
The Gama Zeta Chapter at LSU hosted the event as a lectureship in values and ethics.
