OMV locations slowly reopen, some by appointment only

Local News

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) Donaldsonville OMV is the only location in Ascension Parish to reopen at this time due to COVID-19, but there’s other locations that’ll remain closed.

Gonzales and Port Allen offices are still closed with no word yet on when it’ll reopen.

The closures are precautionary measures due to the coronavirus, but locations are opening with some restrictions.

Since July 20th, locations in Livingston and Baton Rouge have reopened. Offices that are operating by appointment only include Plaquemine and Baton Rouge.

Masks are mandatory in most circumstances at OMV locations as well as social distancing. All offices will be complying with the capacity requirements associated with phase two of reopening.

Customers are urged to continue utilizing the OMV website at www.expresslane.org for available online services such as driver license renewals, identification card renewals, official driving records, and duplicate registrations.

Customers are also encouraged to check their driver license status by visiting www.expresslane.org regarding flags, blocks, suspensions or disqualifications. If a customer has flags on their record, they must clear those flags prior to obtaining any OMV services.
