One of two suspects connected to vehicle burglaries in Livingston Parish arrested, detectives say

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – One of two suspects was arrested in connection to series of “unlocked” vehicle burglaries, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO).

LPSO said they are still attempting to identify the second suspect.

Detectives said the suspects involved in this case were armed and seen on Aug. 18 in north Denham Springs at two apartment complexes and two subdivisions, including:

  • Parc @ Denham
  • City Heights
  • Easterly Lakes
  • Lakes at Belle Terre

At this time, they’ve been connected to seven vehicle burglaries, according to detectives. LPSO said the accused normally take money, checks, laptops, wallets and small electronics.

Detectives said the suspects have been seen driving a black 2006 Chevrolet Impala with Louisiana plate 126CPU.

The suspect arrested and booked in Livingston Parish Detention Center on Monday was identified as 19-year-old Dwayne L. Dunn Jr.

LPSO detectives continue to investigate this series of vehicle burglaries and ask anyone with information to call 225-686-2241 x1 or Crime Stoppers at 225- 344-STOP.

Authorities suggest residents take extra precautions by locking their vehicles and removing all valuables.
