Our Lady of the Lake sets a unique price of admission to the LSU baseball game

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) ––– Our Lady of the Lake hosted a free vaccine event at Alex Box Stadium on LSU’s campus where you could walk away vaccinated and with free baseball tickets.

“We’re just encouraging everyone to get their vaccine, do their part in creating a healthy community,” says Monique Marino, Director of Community Advocacy at Our Lady of the Lake.

But as LSU fans marched towards the stadium, only a few stopped by the tent. Staff say that is likely due to a large number of people already being vaccinated.

Nicholas Marx is an LSU student who says although he did not need the free tickets, this was a convenient way to get his shot.

“It’s just kind of a good way to get outside, see people and maybe go to the game… it was a slam dunk to get my vaccine here as well,” says Marx.

Most of the people we spoke to were not drawn in by the free tickets.

“I came out because I think it’s the best way we can end this pandemic. I wanted to just go ahead and get my shot done,” says LSU fan Easton Vinson.

An Our Lady of the Lake representative says they do not have any other events scheduled on campus at this time, but you are not out of luck if you missed the event.

“We’re at Penington Monday through Friday, walk-ins welcome. You can make an appointment online or just walk in,” says Shelby Devillier, Supervisor of Pennington Vaccine Clinic.
