BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Our Lady of The Lake Hospital will remain open during the expected days of Hurricane Ida.

“As the state’s largest hospital, Our Lady of the Lake is always ready for our community’s needs, whether that’s a global pandemic or major natural disaster,” Our Lady of the Lake Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Manson said. “Hurricane season is a fact of life in Louisiana, and we have systems and processes in place for response in the event of a storm.”

As of Friday morning, Our Lady of the Lake is caring for 190 COVID-19 positive patients. 79 of those patients are in the intensive care unit and 10 patients are children. 29 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to OLOL facilities in the past 24 hours.

OLOL emergency rooms are open and accepting patients.

The hospital has a generator that is capable of powering the hospital. If power does go out at the hospital, the generator is expected to kick on.
