BATON ROUGE, LA (BRPROUD)- Over 265 essential employees at the Baton Rouge General Hospital will have the opportunity to receive one bag of Blue Buffalo dog or cat food courtesy of Gordon McKernan and a local pet store.

Each bag will contain a coupon to receive an additional free bag of Blue Buffalo dog food from Neighborhood Pet Market on Jefferson Hwy.

Many of us are enjoying the extra time we are able to spend at home with our loyal companions. However, the fur friends of our healthcare workers aren’t as fortunate. Their owners are working tirelessly to help heal and protect our community.

This gave attorney Gordon McKernan an idea on how to help them by launching its newest community outreach program, Penny’s Pantry named after his family dog.

Attorney McKernan issued a statement regarding the outreach project:

To show our appreciation and gratitude to these heroes, Gordon and Penny, are donating pet food. It is our hope that we can ease a bit of stress and allow the workers to spend some extra time with their family, friends, and pets.

We are truly blessed to have so many dedicated healthcare workers during this crisis. Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys is honored to call Louisiana home and we believe it is our privilege and desire to help our community in any way we can.

Thank you to the local pet store, Neighborhood Pet Market, and Blue Buffalo for helping us make this happen. It is wonderful to see both local and national brands come together to help members of the community. We will get through this together.
