BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Metro Council approved a $20 million drainage initiative in June and stated that work would begin right away.
Since approval, the Metro Council says the initiative has already accomplished:
- 205 catch basins/storm drains cleaned
- 348,000 pounds of debris removed
- 586 feet of drain pipe cleaned
There are currently six crews of contractors in the parish working on the cleanup, according to a spokesperson from Metro Council.
