Over $200,000 awarded to help sexual assault victims in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — According to U.S. Attorney Ellison C. Travis, $270,782 has been awarded by the Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) to go to sexual assault victims in Louisiana.

Funds will specifically go to the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Inc. and the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, Inc.

The award is from OVW is one out of 56 total awards nationwide through the Sexual Assault Services Formula Program.
