BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Companion Animal Alliance, an open-intake animal shelter in Baton Rouge, is well over capacity and is urging people to adopt pets, foster pets or come into the shelter to see if their lost pets are there.

“We have more animals in our care than we have kennels and animals keep coming in through our doors,” a Facebook post by CAA reads. “We are currently having to use pop-up wire kennels in our intake area to temporarily house pets.”

Anyone who wants to help out or see if their lost pet is at CAA can visit the shelter daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2550 Gourrier Ave.

Those looking to help can also reach CAA at 225-408-5360 or adopt@caabr.org.

To browse pets available for adoption, visit CAA’s Facebook page or Pet Finder page.
