BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – As of Monday night, a dozen people are recovering from a shooting at a Baton Rouge nightclub.
Tammy Caston is the mother of a man who was injured in the gunfire. She told BRProud, “I asked that everyone pray for strength, not just for him, but for the other victims as well.”
Caston’s son, Michael Henderson, who is also known to many as ‘DJ REVV,’ was reportedly working as a DJ at a party the club was hosting when the incident unfolded.
Caston described the moment she learned what happened, saying, “I received a call from a friend, from his girlfriend, who called me and said he had been shot. My feelings were everywhere. I didn’t know if my child was alive.”
Henderson’s parents said he was shot in the hip when the gunfire rang out.
Reflecting on the incident, Henderson’s father said, “He was at work when he got shot. He was doing his job. What he does well, DJ.”
Henderson has been working as a DJ in the Baton Rouge area for more than eight years, and he’s known for being the life of the party.
His family says that with intense therapy, he should recover well.
“This would not stop him from being DJ Revv. I can tell you that right now,” Henderson’s father said. “He’s still laughing right now.”
Baton Rouge Police ask that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers via its anonymous tip line at (225) 344-7867.
