BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Still need to pick up holiday gifts for loved ones? Shop local at two upcoming Red Stick Farmers Markets before Christmas.

Shoppers can purchase unique gift baskets, local wines, jellies, honey, spices, and more. Markets will also have seasonal produce such as sweet potatoes, greens, turnips, citrus, and pecans for a memorable holiday dinner.

These markets will be taking place on Saturday, Dec. 18 in downtown Baton Rouge and Thursday, Dec. 23 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. If you’re searching for a handmade gift for someone, the Baton Rouge Arts Markets will also be open on Saturday.

Red Stick Farmers Market will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The market schedule will resume on Thursday, Jan. 6, according to the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA).
