A small plane made an emergency landing due to engine failure near Scotlandville Friday, according to Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) officials.

The twin engine aerostar 1973 was departing from BTR when it experienced major engine failure upon takeoff.

Although the flight’s final destination is unclear, authorities believe it may have been a local flight.

We’re told the plane narrowly missed a tank farm while making the emergency landing.

Fortunately, both the pilot and passenger were not injured.
