PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) — City of Plaquemine officials are urging residents to report illegal vehicles driving on the Mississippi River levee trail.
Off-road vehicles (such as ATVs), trucks, cars and scooters are not allowed to drive on the trail, according to officials.
City officials said those caught driving on the levee may be ticketed and have their vehicle seized, per city ordinances. They also remind residents that the new Plaquemine Riverfront Recreational Trail is walking and bicycle riding only.
Police Chief Kenny Payne is asking people to report vehicles seen on the levee top to the police department by calling 225-687-9273. Information can be shared anonymously.
