PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Plaquemine woman accused of waving a gun pointed inside a local bar was arrested Wednesday.
The woman was identified by the sheriff’s office as Sherri White, 51, of Plaquemine. A video shared on the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page shows White yelling and waving a gun at a doorway of a bar.
Deputies were called to Club Secret on Sunday, Oct. 16 where White allegedly brandished a black semi-automatic pistol. While she waved the gun around, a man was hit on the head with a beer bottle by someone else, according to arrest documents. Deputies said White, other suspects and the victim were no longer at the bar when they arrived.
Investigators gained access to surveillance footage the next day where White can be seen pulling a gun from her shirt and waving it around, according to an affidavit. In an interview, White told deputies she went to the bar after someone had called her about a person threatening to kill her son.
White turned herself in to authorities on Wednesday and was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet.
