Police: Suspects stole victim’s backpack after drag racing crash

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Baton Rouge detectives are seeking public help to find people they suspect stole from a bicyclist killed in a drag race last week.

Deondrick Rudd, hit Jan. 25 while riding his bicycle on the sidewalk along North Lobdell, was carrying a backpack containing photography gear when the racing vehicles hit him. Detectives claim the suspects took the equipment without offering to help Rudd.
