Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival postponed until May

Local News

BATON ROUGE, LA (BRPROUD)- Many events have been cancelled all over the country as an effort to keep the coronavirus from spreading. Organizers of the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival have announced that the highly anticipated event has been postponed.

See the statement below:

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we will be postponing the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival scheduled for April 3, 4 & 5, 2020 due to extremely difficult decisions that had to be made at the State level regarding the COVID-19 concerns.

The Board is working hard to contact everyone involved with bringing the Festival to our community. We ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Julian Dufreche Strawberry Day in the Park scheduled for tomorrow, March 14th, has also been postponed.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and community for all you have given to make our festival what is is today. It truly takes a village and we are proud to call Ponchatoula our hometown. Please take recommended precautions and check on your neighbors. Buy Local and Support your local Farmers.

Please continue to check our Facebook Page for updates.

Thank you!
