Portion of Baton Rouge Fire Department deploy to Grand Isle following Hurricane Ida

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department Incident Management Team has deployed to Grand Isle in response to Hurricane Ida.

The team has been deployed to South Carolina after Hurricane Dorian hit it in 2019 and has worked at home during hurricanes Delta and Ida.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department Incident Management Team’s purpose is to help control large-scale disasters around the southern United States.

In Grand Isle, the team created and continuously updated their Incident Action Plan, kept inventory to disaster relief supplies such as tarps and ice while coordinating supply routes for fuel and water trucks.

The team follows FEMA National Incident Management System standards and is expected to remain deployed for the duration of recovery.
