While Louisiana waits for Phase Two of re-opening, some people are making a lot of noise about reopening EVERYTHING now.
The protesters were few in number this week on the steps of the State Capitol, but their message was clear. They want Louisiana back open for business and they want it now.
Some say getting everyone back to work is a matter of basic American freedom.
Protester Loni Morgan said today, “I think that we should have 100% freedom, instead of 25”
Others, like tattoo artist Tommy Sturgis say it’s bigger than that.
“What I don’t understand is how someone can say what is a necessity and what isn’t a necessity when it comes to somebody’s livelihood,” Sturgis told us. He owns Voudon Tattoo Studio in Slidell and drove all the way here for today’s protest.
“I’ve been doing this for 34 years. This is my life. This is my livelihood. This is how I provide for my kids, for my family, to pay my bills,” Sturgis said today. ” I’m going deeper and deeper into debt every single day that this continues.”
