Public schools volunteer organization asks community for donations for fundraiser

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) is taking part in a community-wide fundraising event now through the end of this month.

VIPS is a nonprofit organization that aims to build support by hosting fundraisers for schools in need of supplies. VIPS is asking the community to help them reach their goal of $20,000 for EveryOne Counts students who are in need of math manipulatives. The donations will also go to research-based reading guides and materials for students in public schools and background screenings for VIPS’ volunteers.
