Rail pops up and continues to cause delays on La. 70

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) –

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, “the track has been repaired and traffic is resuming as normal.”

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, a rail popped up and it is causing delays.

For anyone who usually takes La. 70 Eastbound, those delays could last all day long.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office is providing details about the closure below:

La. 70 Eastbound at the railroad tracks is closed due to a broken rail. This is going towards Donaldsonville. It will be closed until further notice .Please utilize an alternate route. This is the track near Chef John Folse ‘s food processing plant at La. 70 and La. 3089.
