RC Smith Aviation releases statement following helicopter pilot’s death

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — RC Smith Aviation has released a statement following the death of a helicopter pilot killed in a crash on I-10 on Tuesday.

The statement reads:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our dear friend and colleague, Josh Hawley. Josh was a blessing to anyone that was fortunate enough to be around him. He will be dearly missed in many ways and we know that his legacy will continue through all of his work, family, and friends that came to know him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hawley family at this difficult time.”

Joshua L. Hawley of Livingston Parish had served in EBR’s EMS Department for four years, according to Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome.
