BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the American Cancer Society of Louisiana, is once again kicking off its Real Men Wear Pink Campaign.

Real Men Wear Pink is determined to raise money to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives. Well over $46,000 was raised at the kickoff event on Thursday night.

“We’re super excited to bring the party here tonight. We have over a hundred very excited campaign people and supporters all ready to raise awareness and to wear pink so we’re just happy to be here” said Katie Babin with the American Cancer Society.

Money will go towards breast cancer research and prevention efforts.

NBC 33/Fox 44 Meteorologist Jay Martin will be one of the men wearing pink to help raise money for this worthy cause.
