BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Gaye Sandoz stopped by the FOX 44 studio to share her recipe for a traditional holiday favorite in Louisiana, rice dressing.
Tony Chachere’s Thanksgiving Kicked up Rice Dressing
1/2 stick butter
1 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
1 small container Savoie’s Dirty Rice Dressing Mix or 1 lb ground sausage (cooked and drained)
2 boxes Tony Chachere’s Rice Dressing Mix
1 bunch chopped green onions
Sauté onion and bell pepper in butter. Add dressing mix or sausage. Prepare Tony Chachere’s Dirty Rice Mix as directed on packaging and add onion/dressing mix to pot before cooking. Cook dressing as directed on box. Add green onions before serving.
