BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Renae Skinner is joining NBC Local 33 News as evening anchor.

Skinner will anchor the 5p, 6p, and 10p newscasts alongside Chief Meteorologist Ashley Ruiz and Sports Director Brian Holland.

“I’m excited to have Renae join our news family. She’s an experienced journalist, anchor, and reporter and will be a major addition to our team and is exactly who we need in what we’re trying to build” says John Walton, News Director for NBC Local 33 News/Fox 44 News.

Prior to joining NBC Local 33 News, Skinner served as an anchor/reporter at KOAA, the NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, CO. Skinner also worked in Waco, Texas, Rochester, NY, Greenville, MS, and Columbus, MS. During her time in Mississippi, Skinner was honored for her reporting.

Skinner is a Colorado native and a graduate of Langston University, the only HBCU in the state of Oklahoma.

Skinner’s first day on air will be December 8.
