Robotics competition to be held in Denham Springs on Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Denham Springs High School will host a robotics competition on Saturday, Oct. 9 in the high school’s gym from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Robotics teams from high schools in Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma will compete in the 8th Annual Dow Red Stick Rumble FIRST Robotics Competition and Festival. FIRST means For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

The competition is sponsored by Dow Chemical. This is the first competition held in two years due to the pandemic, the 2021 competition occurred virtually.

“Offering this opportunity to these team members is not just about competition but about continuing the hope that things are getting back to normal where one day soon we will all be competing together in official competitions,” Daniel Eiland, the event director of the Dow Red Stick Rumble said.

The event is open to the public and food will be provided by the high school snack bar.
