Runnels High School senior Annie Fink placed first at the Metro Cross Country Meet.

A senior at Runnels High School took first place in the girls’ individual three-mile race at the Metro Cross Country meet Saturday at Highland Road Park.

Annie Fink, the defending Class B state champion who also runs indoor and outdoor track for the school, finished with a time of 18:14.75.

Fink also placed first at the Dominican/Holy Cross Invitational held on August 21 at City Park in New Orleans with a time of 18:45, which set a new school record. She was a second-place finisher at both the McNeese Cowboy Stampede on September 28 and at the Catholic High Invitational Meet on October 12.

Fink is an honor roll student and was chosen for the 2019-2020 LHSAA All-Academic Girls Cross Country 4.0 Scholar Team.
