BATON ROUGE, La. (BR Proud) — Sacred Heart of Jesus School eighth grader Alex Stewart has been selected as a winner of the St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA) 1868 award.
The award celebrates the exceptional achievements of young women in an area or activity of particular interest to them, including but not limited to the arts, service, community involvement, the STEM Disciplines, leadership or extracurricular activities.
The SJA 1868 award provides $1868 toward freshman year tuition. Selections are based on a 250-word essay about a special gift that the student has a passion for and a recommendation letter that was submitted on their behalf.
Stewart is one of only ten students selected for the award.
