Those in the community are remembering Sadie Roberts-Joseph.
Less than 24-hours after a suspect was named in the savage murder of
75-year-old Roberts-Joseph, people have been visiting her makeshift memorial, at the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African-American
Museum to remember her life.
Roberts-Joseph befriended State Representative Patricia Smith almost 30 years ago. She says the woman, whom the community affectionately called
Ms. Sadie, played a vital role in the community. Smith says for those that knew her,
Roberts-Joseph was all about educating others and making sure all people, no matter their race had access to the museum.
