BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The HSEP Advisory Council is holding their main fundraiser on Friday, December 7 at Boudreaux’s.
The fundraiser is centered around the 12th Annual Breakfast Fundraiser and this year Scotlandville Magnet’s High School for Engineering Professions is recognizing the success of aspiring engineers.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System said, "the breakfast is the Council’s main fundraiser which has allowed engineering lab improvements, student scholarships, ACT preparatory training, collegiate scholarships, and student enrichment programs."
At today's breakfast the HSEP Advisory Council is recognizing various entities that help Scotlandville’s Academy of Engineering including "companies, mentors and educators."
The event is taking place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Mayor Broome is joining Superintendent Warren Drake at today's breakfast.
“The HSEP Council benefits our students by exposing them to engineers and showing them how the industry works. Students are given the opportunity to participate in planning meetings with real engineers. This allows our students to convey their ideas in a professional manner. Most importantly, our students learn that they have a voice in their own education,” said Cynthia Weber, Scotlandville High School Magnet Site Coordinator.
Boudreaux’s is located at 2647 Government St.
