GREENSBURG, La. (BRPROUD) – Have you seen a starving tan pit bull? If so, the Humane Society of Louisiana would like to hear from you. The female dog was last seen at a home on Park Street in Greensburg on Monday, Feb. 13.

“The dog is emaciated and is profoundly and severely underweight,” according to the Humane Society of Louisiana.

HSLA believes the pit bull could die if it is not found soon. The Greensburg Police Department has been notified by the Humane Society of Louisiana about the stray dog. A $200 reward is being offered through HSLA for the safe return of the pit bull to them.

“Time is of the essence in this case,” HSLA Director Jeff Dorson said. “This poor dog will die soon if she is not found and treated. That is why we are asking for the public’s help in locating this dog. We would love to give her a much-deserved second chance and find the perfect, loving home for her.”

Dorson said, “If the dog is owned and got off its leash and is back with its owner, the owner needs to contact us so we can treat the dog.”
