A second suspect was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail in connection with a vehicle robbery at a Sonic restaurant on Highway 73 in Dutchtown.
APSO said, “Joshua L. Sorina, 28, of 7740 Weaver Street, New Orleans, was arrested and charged with four counts armed robbery, four counts armed robbery with a firearm, four counts aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.”
One man is behind bars on Friday morning after he and one other individual led Ascension Parish Sheriff’s on a chase.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said, DeSean Landry, 30, of 5444 Mansour Ave. was arrested a short time after the chase concluded when he was found “hiding in the area.”
Prior to the chase according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Landry and one other individual robbed “an occupied vehicle at a Sonic restaurant on Highway 73 in Dutchtown shortly after 10 p.m.” on Thursday, July 19.
Sheriff deputies responded and found out that four people were “robbed at gunpoint by two black males of their belongings and the vehicle and fled the scene.”
A chase ensued down Highway 70 in St. James Parish and the vehicle was found near St. James High School.
APSO said Landry “was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail” on these counts:
- Four counts of armed robbery
- Four counts armed robbery with a firearm
- Four counts aggravated assault.
One suspect is on the loose and at this time the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office does not know the individuals identity or location.
No one was hurt as a result of the armed robbery.
